Has anyone experienced the hood cracking?  I purchased this a few months ago and haven't used it much.  My son was walking by and in the right light saw a hairline crack.  It really doesn’t effect the machine, but I called Festool to ask.  They said since was outside the 30 day period it wouldn’t be covered.  There is no scratch or dent in the area so it was probably that way when I got it.  I believe Festool makes great products and have spent almost $10,000 with them over the last year or so.  I looked up the part and it is only $33.97.  This probably sounds like whinning, but it is disappointing to me.

Sorry to read about your issue.  I would suggest that you contact them again and ask for the service manager.  Discuss the all inclusive three year warranty and the fact that the product has not been abused and that you would be happy to send an email with closeups to a direct email address.

Although [member=57769]TylerC[/member]  isn't part of the service department perhaps he can help to get that response revisited.

I tried the service line and no one was available so I left a message.  Hopefully, someone will call back.  Thanks again.

Sorry that you're disappointed in your experience so far. I agree with Peter's advice. I'll also reach out to the service team myself for you.

Yeah, the 30 days has nothing to do with it, but the three year warranty does.

I am curious ..... what part number is that?

Seth

If I am looking at the EKAT system correctly, it is part number 496237.  As a side note, the person on the first phone call said that part is considered expendable; however, the EKAT system lists it as a warranty item.  Thanks for everyone's help.

Actually, tons of people have experienced this. This forum is full of it. Broken hose garage (as it is called) is a pretty common thing.

Some areas of the hose garage can be beefed up with Polyurethane construction adhesive.  It requires taking it off (easier on ct26 than on a mini) but worth it.

I'm sorry that I have not made the effort to learn how to load pictures.

Take the garage off and lay it bottom facing up.  Fill up to the lip all the way around with caulk sort of smoothing it with your finger.  Its not pretty, but can't be seen once the garage is reinstalled.  Be careful with the openings where the green clips slide.  Set the garage somewhere (the more humid the better) for at least 24 hours and it should be good to go. It takes about 3/4 of a 10.5 oz tube and the product I've used comes from Lowe's.  I forget the name brand but it is the PL8X, not the 3 or the 5 and costs about $8.00.  The PL8X is very viscous and the others are not so there is no problem with it trying to "run".

Hope this helps>
