Shane, is there a specific reason why this drill is not available in NA? Just curious....

As the US is the country of drywall construction compared to Europe where this kind of construction is more a new thing, this sound counterintuitive why its not available here first..... Missing a huge market....

Drywall in europe is hardly a new thing. From what ive used and seen you are better off with hilti

I'm not always in the loop on why certain products aren't available yet. But, I believe the DWC was originally a Protool product and that's why it had not made it to the U.S. Why it's still not, I'm not sure. We did demo it at JLC Providence to gauge interest level.

Well I guess I should have said from my background originally in Germany.... It certainly is used in commercial construction but way less so in residential/home building.

Here in the US it is used everywhere.....

It's just an opinion, but I think Festool US strive to import Festools that have a degree of uniqueness to justify their relative premium price in the US (or they're a fundamental part of a system).

I have Protool versions of the Duradrive (corded and cordless). They work well, but I wouldn't say they stand out significantly from the other good alternatives out there.

I love my DWC. Rarely misfires, will drive the cheapest nastiest screws and works all day on one battery. Drives 55mm flooring screws well too. Shames the makita it replaced

Jools which rpm one have you got? I think they come in 2 versions?

I have the 4500. Very quick on drywall screws especially the corse threaded type. Others have suggested that the higher speed 4500 version doesn't have the torque for flooring screws but I have not had a problem when laying chipboard floors using 55mm flooring screws
