i am looking to buy the dwc 2500 collated screw gun.  anyone have an over seas source?  a Festool UK dealer i emailed with says that they are not allowed to sell to non EU nations due to festool rules.  personally, not sure what the big deal is but would love to get anyones's .02 worth.

Hi,

  Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

My first thought was that's available in the USA, but no.  USA only has the 4,500rpm version not the 2,500rpm.

Sorry, that doesn't really help but I thought I would post so that people realize the difference.

seth, right, thanks for the input.  as per spec, the 2500 has more torque for driving screws into wood/beams/decks.  i've been told the 4500 doesn't have the mustard to achieve this task .  looking for a source for purchase of a 2500. and while we are on the subject, is there other bits available, ie torx, from festool, for this tool?

Festool does not allow dealers to sell beyond a country's borders to have control over the market. Not legal in lots of countries, but they still do it.

As for a Torx bit, I've found this one on their website, but their website is so crap now I don't know if this is the only one or if they have other sizes as well.

Just keep mailing dealers, sometimes one will sell you a tool despite Festool's rules.

Check out Amazon.de there may be several available there. Shipping to the states only takes 4-7 days.

You’ll receive the item from Europe faster than you’ll receive it from California.
