Eastern US snowstorm, how bad did you get it?

We got about 10"-12" (250-300 mm) here in Pittsburgh, PA. My neighbor has a clothesline in their backyard that is coated with about an eight inch diameter of snow.

Happy shoveling!

Edit: I was wrong, I just got in from shoveling some of the the snow, 18" or more (460 mm).

I love snow.  But I'm tired of it now.  Last weekend was 14 inches.  Yesterday was about 4.  Then sleet.  Then rain.  Now more snow.  Wet snow.  Three inches since 8:00 AM on way to maybe 8.

We are lucky now to get one 6 inch storm a year.  Weekend before Christmas was 13 inches.  Then last weekend with temps in the teens - the coldest snow I can remember since 1971.  My trailer hasn't left the driveway in quite some time.

Thank goodness for the FOG.  I am going nuttier.  And that darned groundhog didn't see his shadow!  Maybe more on Tuesday.  Another storm next weekend is rumored.  Goody.

Poor guys!  [tongue]

We didn't see any snow here all winter long... Today we are getting around +12c http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/CABC0313

Maybe you guys can send us some of that frozen water. The olympics are coming up and without having enough snow they are currently constructing the snow board event with plywood and straw  [big grin] [big grin] [big grin]

No official totals as it is still falling here in DC.  But looking outside, the snow is above the tires of all the cars.....

Well Brice, you got a little luckier than us. We measured 22" when we measured yesterday...I' m down the road from you..I'd say 3 miles or so. We're all lucky in that we weren't on the PA Turnpike yesterday. Those poor souls were stuck there for 12+ hours.

...still shoveling. I've got several more hours to go. I'm going for the popeye look for my forearms.

We had the biggest single snowday in Pittsburgh history. The news guys say 'the biggest of all time' but I say but 'of all time' is a big leap. The dinosaurs may have seen a bigger snow day.

Ray, I just read on talkFestool that member in the Pittsburgh area said he only got 8". That lucky devil, I bet it only took him two or three hours to dig out. ;D

This storm was really concentrated in its bands.  I might have gotten 8 inches.  Go 15 miles, they got 11.  Go another 15 miles they got 18.  Another 20 miles 24 inches.  Fifteen minutes from me the other way 2.5 inches.  Virginia is weird anyways with snow.  In December of 1989 I drove across a bridge over the river.  On one side rain.  On the other - 7 inches of snow.
