I just got a spare blade through the post I ordered from Amazon Uk. Ive not bought a new blade for quite awhile so im not sure but when I took it out of the package it doesn't seem very sharp. If you slide it across your skin it doesn't slice the skin at all which I thought it would. As I cant remember what my last one was like when I bought it can someone with a new unused spare blade take a look at theirs and let me know.

Cheers

Chris

Mine isn't a razor edge either ... I wouldn't stress on it.

cheers thats great, thought I better check as its been awhile since I bought one and this wasn't direct from Amazon so thought it might be dodgy  [laughing]

I just put a new one in mine 2 days ago & I can't say I noticed it razor sharp to the touch but it cut beautifully on wood  [big grin]

My Felder planer blades are another story, have to be carefully with those buggers  [huh]

I just took a look at some of the ones we have in inventory and they are sharp, but not razor sharp.

THese blades take a beating so a lower bevel angle will help them stay sharper longer. If they were "razor sharp" and had a very long thin tip the edge wouldn't stand up and we'd sell more blades...... Wait a second.... Did I say that?

Cheers
