The grandson wants to have “The Talk” along with a Demonstration.
I hoped it would happen but not sure I was prepared.
“So PA when will I be old enough for Festools.”

Well you are 10 now so maybe we could try out some tools.
There are some Festools that I would think you can safely handle.
Here is a drill that comes with accessories so you can get into tight spaces and use it for many applications.
[attachimg=#]
OK so where is the bits.
[attachimg=#]
Using the centronic bit holder.
[attachimg=#]
Grant try’s the eccentric chuck for drilling close to a edge.
[attachimg=#]
Grant puts on the fast fix depthstop so he can do some drywall work.
[attachimg=#]
Grant attaches the Jacobs chuck to see how it works.
[attachimg=#]
Now this is a cool chuck. Grants said it must have a lot of gears. He will use this to get into tight spaces.
There is a smaller version the CSX which may fit your hand better. If I happen to get some Festool Bucks maybe we could get one for your first Festool.
That would be great PA.
Now lets try the TS 55 Plunge Cut Track Saw. I would be comfortable with you using this after a little training.
Grant attaching the vacuumn hose to the saw.
[attachimg=#]
And there is the boom arm which holds the vacuum hose and the power cord out of your way while you are cutting.
Lets practice how to plunge the saw while it is on the rail. Push the thumb release so the saw can power up when you pull the trigger and be plunged down.
[attachimg=#]
Pull the trigger and let the saw get up to full speed before you push the saw down to start your cut. Now push the saw forward so it can cut.
Stop the saw before you get to the end of the rail and release the trigger and let the saw rise up.
Now the reason I am comfortable with you using the saw is that the saw is made to retract the blade when ever you release pressure on the saw. That keeps the spinning saw blade away from what it should not be cutting.
Now we can see how the domino joiner works.
Grant gets his hands into the correct position so he can mortise.
[attachimg=#]
Push in slowly and hold the domino down tight on the board.
Practicing more domino maneuvers.
[attachimg=#]
This was no Festool Training Class but I think with a little practice we can get these shelves done for your mom.
