extra long euro hindge bit

hi there.
i was a neighbours shop today and saw him using an old mortiser (bought a domino). he put a table on it and put the bit in the chuck without the removable part that holds the chisel. .
i thought it was a great idea as you can take it on site and using a drill press on long doors is a pain in a small shop.
i went to my local tool shop (where he works) to get a small morticer. they dont have the one he has but have th eslightly better one (for morticing ) for a small bit more.
the part that holds th echisel is cast as part of the machine and cant be taken off.
a normal length bit isnt long enough to reach up into the chuck.

does anyone make a longer one . maybe 6 " 150mm. and tct.

i would like to get the better one as i might use it for morticing sometime (also have domino)

or maybe some kind of extension  might work

The Famag 1661.035 (35 mm dia, 140 mm overall length) and the Fisch 0440 series (35 mm dia, 145 mm overall length) could be an option.

Hi Christian,

I see you live in Austria.  My sister is going to Vienna for her honeymoon in a couple of months.  Is there a Festool dealer there you would recommend if I ask her to pick up a couple of Festools normally not available in the United States? (If they had a sales person that spoke some English (or Spanish), that would be helpful.  [big grin]

Any advice would be appreciated.

Please check out the Festool Austria website in order to search for dealers in Vienna. There's only one Festool dealer in Vienna that I've visited personally: Gaisch - shouldn't be a bad choice. I don't know if they speak English. You can email them and ask them about their language skills and if the tools you're contemplating are in stock.

Was in Europe this past week for vacation, in Vienna mostly, and popped in to this dealer.  Jackpot!!  They didn't have everything (I was interested in another hand sanding block for hose connection).  But had a very wide range of green & blue goodness.

Came home with the socket set, some pigtails, a Festool angle gauge (OK, I admit I bought this 'cuz it's simply cool and I'm a slavish fanboy), and some other knick-knacks.  The gent who rang me up threw in the Festool Swiss Army knife, which I was very appreciate of (I alllmost bought it anyway), and some "Festool Fan" stickers, LOL.

I thought about some of the shorter levels for Foggers, but my luggage was pretty full as it was, sorry friends!

Anyway, the point of this reply is to affirm this dealer is good for Festool goodies.  And, much to my happiness, they accept credit cards!!  (dealers I visited last year in Germany and Scandanavia didn't take CC's.  Forced me to pass on many things, since I was limited to cash on hand).

If you're visiting Vienna, this dealer is just 2 blocks from a subway stop (Orange line U3 towards Ottakring; Schweglerstrasse stop)
