It is connected to a shaper and 25" planer. Never both at the same time.
It is very quite and works extremely well as long as you keep up with the filters.
The first time the filters plugged the sensing system gave no warning. It got to a point where it was exhaling dust instead of collecting it.
The machine passages were plugged from bottom of filters to impeller exit.
We now do a filter cleaning with the hose every day. We do use the wipes to "shake" the filter.
I did not reinstall the filter shroud. I can remove and replace the filters in about 15 minutes if the need arises. I do keep a "clean" set of filters in stock just for "one of those days.
If/when I need another dust extractor I'd get the next model up (800???) with the quick change filters.

Have you looked around to see if someone has the Laguna in stock? I don't know what current supplies for them are. Often though there is an obscure dealer with a unit in stock. Might be worth a call to Laguna even, especially if you can get a hold of the Laguna rep.sanjay said:Has anyone seen a discount code for a G700 recently? It seems the only place it can be bought is on the harvey website. I ordered a Laguna Pflux in feb but have now been told it is a 6-7 month delivery.
That is not a bad price at all. I think the lowest I have seen it in the last year or so was $2500, and most often the low price is $2600, so $100 more is no biggie. I was seriously looking at a Harvey G700, but wound up with a far cheaper new Jet JCDC-3 from Ebay, then put an expensive HEPA filter onto it, for 1/3 the price of a Harvey unit. There are complaints with many of the dust collectors available today with the cyclones being too short, filters plugging, hard to clean, along with a list of other nuances.sanjay said:I called Harvey and they can do the unit for 2700. I am just about to pull the trigger!

HEPA filter and the preliminary separation & Gyro air separation system, make it possible to exhaust at 0.05mg/m³.
Filter paper is complied with HEPA, Toray brand. See attached document.
They did provide the Hepa certificate as well.

I don't see any attached. Can you provide the HEPA certification?

Sure, here is the HEPA document they sent to me:
The major issue I had with the G700 was with my Hammer A3-31. At the time I had the straight knives on the head and was doing a big project with 2x4s and 2x6s that required all sides be flat, all sides to be square to each other, and same thickness. When I passed an 8' board through the planer the long strips produced by the knives became lodged in the intake port. The safety mesh stopped the shavings. Thus every board forced me to power off the G700 and clear out the intake port. I spent much more time clearing the intake port than I did planning the wood. After a full day I was totally fed up with the G700 and sold it. Since then I installed a Shelix head, super pleased with it and have been using a new Grizzly I picked up for $200, with the Oneida Air Systems Super Dust Deputy (4/5 Deluxe). I plan to get a clearview (5 hp) dc or put a separate dc on each tool in the shop.BK Makes said:Just wanted to express my appreciation and gratitude for all of you sharing on this topic. Depending on the ease of 220v outlet install at two spots in my pending new shop I’ll have either a Harvey or the V3000 soon.
I was all set to go with the Harvey until I saw their recommendation for 6-month filter changes, which at US$300 and the work involved (see Jason Bent’s YouTube vid), is a deal breaker for me. Seemingly that’s just them being cautious though, given the comment from [member=72656]jgt1942nc[/member], ”Stuart has been using his one unit for 7/8 years and has NOT had the need to replace the filters and feels that they will last several more years.” (That comment is GOLD, by the way, and really turned me back around to considering the Harvey). Jason Bent has also said that the 6-month changes aren’t really necessary. Again, thanks all!

I have a Hammer A3-31 silent head and do you think the G700 would handle the smaller chips?
