I sometimes watch a show on Science Channel called Outrageous Acts of Science. They just featured one of Festo's robots on their top 10 list. Pretty cool. Screen shots from the TV show attached below.

You can see the Air Jelly robot in this video at the 4:10 mark but the whole video is neat if you don't know much about Festo.

Was watching Sci channel and saw the show but didn't see the Festo on it. Cool contraption nonetheless. Very organic.

It was on tonight's episode called "Rebooters". The Festo segment started at 37 minutes in.

Thanks for the video pointer, [member=48572]Shane Holland[/member] .

Festo does very cool robots.  They don't get as much publicity as the Intel drones, but they are more creative.  Someone could make a wedding business out of their robotic butterflies.  BTW, the Intel drone shows had Germans managing the boundary between technology and art as well.

Very cool!! Though it's still the Festo bird that blows my mind the most.

a few months ago i took my kid to the Robots exhibit at the franklin institute in Philly, very very cool stuff showcased there. There was an entire section of festo parts, i think i had as much if not more fun that my boy.

Shane, that's incredible.
A bit frightening peace of sci-fi though. hope it won't give me nightmares

That jellyfish learning process is pretty interesting...also kind of creepy.  [eek]
