I don't recall ever coming across this handy accessory before (there's no mention of it anywhere on the forum, at least that I could find):

I stumbled upon it while watching the following youtuber's hack / personal take on a DIY Work Center (cued up to the relevant spot):
=153

While it doesn't appear to have ever been available in N.A., it looks like just the ticket for someone wanting a more modestly priced solution (compared to the CT Boom Arm 492753). Given its simple bolt-on fastening method I can see this being easily adapted for use on a dust extractor, a stack of systainers (fitted to a sys-cart) or the like or even, for ultimate portability, attached to a sturdy block that's fastened to the t-track on an MFT (along the lines of Pancha's quick release mount). Pretty neat.

A long time ago, back when I worked for a festool distributor, this was available in NA. Was never a big seller from what I saw though. This was back in the days of the CT22 and CT33. Those vacs had a threaded hole in the top that would accept this accessory. Now that I'm typing this, I'm not sure if the newer CT's have that or not.

That's still available worldwide except it's NAINA. However, its not inexpensive at $72.

It was highlighted in a UK Organization Brochure circa 2010.

The model that I have for my Ct-22 didn't have threads - it was just a push in fit.

Peter

Color me wrong - it's been a while for me. Thanks for clarifying, Peter.

Rockler makes one that is way cheaper and, seemingly, more useful:https://www.rockler.com/dust-right-...MIkoyzj4Gi5wIVWx-tBh1F7QrHEAQYASABEgIaFfD_BwE

Aaahhh, but its major drawback is that it's not spring loaded (plus, I'm betting that it's made in China). The addition of a spring at the base makes all the difference - no chance of causing calamity when yanking the dust extractor around of when attached to the (delicate) t-track on the MFT/3. A rigid version seems like trouble to me.

Well, far be it from me to suggest someone not spend twice as much and wait for international import on a Festool item, as I do myself when the situation warrants- but, seems like the spring issue could be addressed with a 5.00 driveway marker...https://www.doitbest.com/shop/hardw...way-marker/48rebnd-driveway-marker?SKU=582417

The version that goes into the hole on the CT vacs was called SHR-CT/SR with partnumber 487072.

I have one, but didn't find it practical at all. (I saw it before on the fog in a post by Brice Burell, (If I recall correctly), in the post he used two of them, one on the vac, and one mounted to a wooden block he put on the sheet he was working on.

I got one when I bought my CTL 26 when they just came out, a few years later I saw a picture of the same part, but it came with a spring on a pin, which would make it more usefull to me (like the cableholders you find on some ironing boards).
I tried finding a partnumber for just the spring part on ecat, but couldn't find it, and forgot about it.

/edit: I borrowed the link for the picture from this amazonpage, that states it's currently unavailable: link

[member=3078]Dane[/member] - No doubt! My assumption assumed that GST wouldn't be a factor and that someone might hypothetically add this item to a larger order (so that the shipping cost would thus be absorbed by/spread across the other items in the order - or at least that's the thought process/justification I might have used to convince myself had I ever gone outside the boundaries of N.A. to acquire accessories, which I'm not saying that I've ever done...but if I did.... ;)

Plus, I concur that this idea just screams out for a shop-built version. I posted mostly with the intent of spreading the idea to promote people's ingenuity.

Here's my 20-year-old CT33 with the original spring-less hose minder.  The straight rod has just enough flex as not to cause any problems over the years.  It has been a handy place to hang hoses, power cords and the occasional jacket.

Easy to fabricate out of a length of aluminum rod. I made one bent into a "y" shape at the top, just lay the hose into it. No need to thread the hose through and much easier to use the hose on and off the vac. Also used to hang a  Festool power cord so I don't have to bend down to pick up while switching tools.

[member=71938]Kanuka[/member] - nothing ridiculous about an repressive, anti-democratic, authoritarian government. When I have a choice, I prefer to support the opposite. Sadly, w/digital electronic devices there is no choice. Luckily, with almost everything else, there is.

Such as shirts, trousers, sweaters, tools, chisels, watches...it’s about time we jettison the Chinese horse collar and ante up to purchase goods that are made in the USA. I have no issue in purchasing made in USA goods that are 20-40% higher than the competition. And I’m not a Trumper thank God.
