Does anybody know if the older Basis 1A sawtable is also suited for the TS 55 saw?

I know that the Basis 1A table was from the time that the ATF 55 saw was available.

But maybe somebody have found out a way to use this table with the new saw.

Hello yes I have the same Basis and am told that the current modules fit the older table,  so think you just need to get the current TS55 module  Hope that helps !!

I know that the Basis 1A table was from the time that the ATF 55 saw was available.

But maybe somebody have found out a way to use this table with the new saw.

The UK version of the CMS brochure has a paragraph on compatability between the older Basis and the newer CMS systems:

CMS and Basis-Plus System

Many things have changed with the Compact Module System CMS, but
not everything. For example, the modules in the established Basis-Plus
System (except for the Basis 1 A module) can be used with the new basic
unit of the CMS.

Of course, the new modules of the TS 55 and TS 75 can
also be used in the Basis-Plus. Retrofitting the Basis-Plus with the TS 55
is achieved by simply using the sliding table SAS 500 (see Page 13).

The sliding table is mentioned because unlike the Basis 1 A/T Work module for the ATF55 which allows the saw to slide past the wood when cross-cutting, the CMS-TS55 module doesn't allow the saw to slide - you have to move the wood instead, by using the sliding table.

That's one answer, but unfortunately Festool give different compatibility information on page 80 of the Semi-Stationary work section of the 2010 catalogue:

All modules in the established Basis-Plus System can be combined with
the basic unit of the CMS, except for the Basis 1 A module.

All CMS modules are compatible with the Basis-Plus basic unit, except
for the CMS-TS 75.

The sliding table Basis SAS must be fitted in the Basis-Plus before the
CMS-TS 55 can be used (order no. 493955).

The above statement says that the CMS-TS 75 module isn't compatible with the Basis-Plus basic unit (ie the Basis table), whereas the statement in the brochure says that it is compatible.

To answer your question, it therefore appears that there is no problem fitting a TS55 module into a Basis table, except that the saw doesn't slide.

The SAS500 sliding table isn't really required, only the TS55 module. The sliding table often comes in very handy though. The TS75 module doesn't fit, but the Basis system had a module (Basis 2A) for the ATF65 saw, which is - as the name implies - slightly larger than the TS55.

I think the questions and answers have become a little muddled.

I believe the OP wants to know if the TS 55 will fit in the Basis 1A/T module.

I'm still using my ATF 55 (six years later - still going strong!) in my Basis table and so don't own a TS 55 but I have used one. AFAIK the TS 55 doesn't have the metal locating pin on the base that would allow you to mount it in the 1A/T module. The rear locking knob plate is also not flush and so would also not fit.

So, to be clear, the TS 55 does NOT fit the Basis 1A/T.

Equally the 1A/T module will not fit in the CMS table as the handle for the pull saw interferes with the frame of the new style table.

But on the other hand, the CMS TS55 module will fit in the Basis 1A. And you fit the TS55 in the CMS TS55 module, not in the 1A/T you use for the ATF55.
