I have been looking at Festool's buffing system but I wanted to know if it works on polyurethane.  I saw someone using it on laquer so I am guessing it will. I also dont know what to buy.  Do you need every pad or can you skip pads, can you use different buffing compounds like autosol, and any other information you can share.  Thanks everyone !

I'm pretty inexperienced in this subject myself but I think you'd need a polisher, not a sander, or at the very least a Rotex type sander.

Correct, you need a Rotex or a RAP. I’ve used my RO 125 to buff out the cars. And I’ve used the RO 90 to buff out the motorcycles and the headlight covers on the cars.
