Festool Cabinet Making Class - Ashville

I just attended the Festool Cabinet Making Class presented by Greg Paolini in his Ashville facility.

Short review: Worth the money, but, definitely more worth the time.

Very good review of the basic tools (Kapex, UG, MFT/3, TS-55).  I learned a lot of nuances of these that I either never knew or forgot.

Really great instruction and practice of the Domino and MFK.  Edge banding was also good practice.

LR-32:  4 of 6 attendees had the LR-32, but, had never used it.  Greg gave us a really good overview and we all felt comfortable with it after using it.  That was probably worth the whole two days.

Facility: First class with every tool you could imagine.  We had free access to the entire place and his employees were very respondant to many questions and our peering over their shoulders as they performed magic.

I will definitely come back.

Thanks for confirming the class is worth the money.  I would love to take this class if I can ever find a session with an opening.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your class w/ Gregory Paolini.  You don't see much about training classes on FOG.

I'm enrolled in the June 16th class for Advanced Router Techniques.

I have a few routers and most of the Festool attachments for using them. I am a hobbyist woodworker and self taught. It will be fun working with someone of Gregory's abilities, especially with routers, and pick up a few tips.  It will also be nice to put my hands on a few of the other tools that Festool may have left laying around. I would like to try a few of the drills and maybe the Kapex. I have the CXS drill yet would like to try some of the other, more powerful drills. I've always liked Dewalt cordless drills and drivers and would like to see how they compare.

I also have used the L32 and a few pieces of the MFS system and have used both and I hope to put these to more use in class and later at home.

This is good to know, I just signed up for the indy class for cabinet making. The Classes fill up really fast.
