I know this has been asked before, so please bear with me.
I know there is different makers of the centrotec drill bits, My question is, is the quality the same?
Are the price differences worth it?  Or are you better off just buying the festool?
I know on the Europeon side that they have talked about Axminister?
Thanks for your help.

I've only used Festool bits and they're very high quality. But the price is very high, so I tend to buy more and more standard non-centrotec bits lately. I only stick with the Festool bits I really like like the 100 mm bits, and for others I buy cheaper bits from other brands.

I haven't had the opportunity to try 3rd party centrotec bits yet, but my guess is they'll do just fine and due to the lower price give you more value for your money.

But how can you go wrong with bits? They're all hardened steel as long as you don't go for the 10 for a dollar sets, and even the most expensive bits break at one point.

We've been offering Atlas' Centrotec Square Drive bits for a LONG time now. Never any issues or complaints about quality, fit or finish.

I think that's probably the best point, insofar as there are only marginal differences between sufficient and great.  The only situation where you might notice a difference in terms of hardness/stability is on an impact driver, where lower quality bits can chip.  But you don't really have to worry about that since Festool no longer makes the T15.

If you're talking about drill bits and countersinks rather than drivers, I can say I've been fairly pleased with my Snappy centrotec set, and can simply replace the bits when they get dull.  When I have to drill an absolutely clean and precise hole, however, I will reach for my Festool branded imperial centrotec drill bits that came in my installer's set (not sure if they're available separately), which are worth the premium price:https://us.amazon.com/Festool-Centrotec-Imperial-Driver-Installer/dp/B01AXN3D5M

I wanted Centrotec-compatible "stubby" HSS drill bits (not brad-points) and found the Fisch ones to be very good; they do 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10mm. One might assume that their regular length and brad-points are of similar quality? No idea of availability or prices in your localities though...

In the US we’d have to order from Axminster

Thanks to all for your help. I was looking for the imperial drill bits that came in the installers kit. Seems I can only find metric sets. Does anyone know where I can buy the imperial?

Sadly those (that came with the installer's set) imperial drill bits are not available separately.

Kind regards,
Oliver
