Festool Clamp Interface on Sale NOW at Micro Fence

This there any adjustment for fitting the clamp to the guide rail?

MicroFence,

Can you explain how this system works?  I went to the website to see all what I needed to buy for the setup but when you go to buy something it says you need to have "x" to make this whole system work. Basically, what do you all need to purchase for the guide rail kit?

ForumMFG,

It is confusing as to what you really need when reading their site.  However, if you call them and tell them what you are trying to do they will tell you what you need and don't need.  Basically, if you are only needing the edge guide,  it comes complete @ 199.00.  You do have to tell them which router you are going to use and they include the mounting bar for that router.  If you want additional mounting bars for other routers, they have those as well @ 39.00 each.

Next, if you want to use the system on the festool guide rail, you need  the circle jig with clamp interface for the festool guide rail @ 209.00.  And get the model A mounting bar @ 39.00.  This mounting bar allows you to use the edge guide and circle jig with micro fences products.  You need this model A mounting bar since in the above example, you got the festool mounting bar.  You can also drill the circle jig mounting plate for any router to use on the Festool guide rail.  The Model A mounting bar is needed to hook into this mounting plate and works with other micro fence accessories (like the plunge base for example).

That should get you started into their system.

Hi Les,

There are two screws that can be adjusted to account for any tolerance discrepancy.

Wayne has done a great job explaining things, but we are going to be taking a look at our Clamp Interface Page in particular to try and find a way to make it more "user friendly." We are listening to you guys!

Basically, if someone called me and said "I have none of your system but I want to use the Clamp Interface" here is what I would tell them to buy: Circle Jig Complete, Model A, + Festool Clamp Interface. It's on sale right now, but will be ending shortly (I believe early next week when AWFS starts). Circle Jig / Clamp Interface Package

What would you say to someone who owns the Micro fence? Just need the circle jig and clamp?

Are the adjustment screws steel at the contact point or are they made of something more malleable that won't scratch the aluminum rail?

Thanks for the questions Les. To someone who owns the Micro Fence Edge-Guide I would say: Buy the Circle Jig Attachment & the Clamp Interface. If you already have the Model A Mounting Bar, than you are all set, if not, than grab one of those too. I think you already have the Model A Bar, Les, but you would have to confirm for sure.

The adjustment screws are nylon tipped at the contact point so they will not scratch the rail.
