We're reworking Festool Connect quite a bit this year. It will be held at Festool's North American headquarters in Lebanon, Indiana on Saturday, September 10. We have some really cool plans, and it's on track to be bigger and better than ever.

Here's just a bit of what will be happening:

  • Tool demonstrations
  • Sneak peeks at upcoming tools
  • Tours of the Festool USA headquarters
  • Surprise guest speakers
  • Food and beverage
  • More to come!

Although it is a free event, we'd like everyone who is planning to come to register. (No, pre-registration isn't a required, but it helps us to properly plan for food, beverages, giveaways, etc.)

You can register now athttp://festoolusa.com/connect/

Who's planning to be there?

FWIW, I won't be there, because I have a family wedding in Colorado. I was really looking forward to meeting many of you in person. [crying]

I will urge all who are planning on attending who will need a hotel room to start searching now and book as soon as possible.  There are several events going in in the Indy area that weekend and rooms are getting scarce.

My wife and I are considering spending the weekend in Indianapolis.  Is there anything at Festool Connect to keep her entertained?  I don't think she will like the idea of spending the day at the hotel while I'm at Festool.

The Indy Zoo is great one. Maybe she'd like to spend the time there? Shopping is also really nice in Indy.

Stay at the Crowne Plaza Union Station in one of the sleeping cars. She can get The Circle Centere without having to go outside.

Thanks,  we were going to the zoo on Sunday. I was looking for something she might want to do on her own Saturday. I don't think that she would enjoy herself tagging along with me at the connect.

I just posted this in the other Connect thread, but I'll put it here.

I agree with everything that [member=48572]Shane Holland[/member] said in regard to hotels and things around Lebanon.

Indianapolis is a great city with a lot of things to do. (As someone who's lived in Indiana for 2/3 of my life and currently lives in downtown Indy, I'm pretty biased.)

Here are a few things I recommend:
  • The Children's Museum of Indianapolis: The world's largest children's museum is pretty incredible. Great if you have kids, but it's fun for couples, too.
  • Lots of breweries: There's a lot of great beer in this town. My personal favorites are Black Acre, Flat 12, Daredevil Brewing CompanyFoutain Square Brewery and St. Joseph's Brewery (located in an old church; really cool location).
  • The Mass Ave District: It's strip downtown with great restaurants, bars and shops. Good for couples. (St. Joseph's is very close to this.)
  • NCAA Hall of Champions: The NCAA is located in Indy (which is why the Final Four is here once per decade). If you're a college sports fan, check out their Hall of Champions.
  • Tapper's Arcade Bar: This is a new bar in the Fountain Square area, which is near downtown. It's filled with old arcade games from the 80s and 90s. Incredibly fun. All of the games are free (except pinball, I think.) There are other good bars and restaurants in that neighborhood, too.
  • The Fashion Mall at Keystone: If your wife (or you) like shopping, this is a really nice, high-end mall. Then again, if you wife really likes to shop, I'd be afraid to take her there.

If there are specific types of things that you're looking for, let me know. I love this city, and I'll try to help.

What night are most of you guys staying Friday? Saturday or both?
Im driving from Mid-Michigan its about a 6 hour drive.
Id like to stay Friday night to get to the event on time Saturday But, I'd like to meet and hang out with some fellow Fogers after the show and stay Saturday. Also does anyone want to split a room to cut costs?  Please reply- This is the only event that I can make happen all year.
Thanks, Marc
