festool copy cat

How 'bout that! I'm guessing it's NAINA, given its voltage and frequency. Wonder what it costs...

Did you read the company brief?  Obviously translated from Chinese but they couldn't even get that right.  One would think this is kind of stuff Festool, or any other quality manufacturer with a brand to protect, would get after legally.

I saw the link on the Aussie forum a while back, they also also cloned tools from other manufacturers. Like for instance this makita.

Note that on the smaller pictures it has even has a plugit (haha, they just changed the colors of the festool catalog pic)

the problem with countries like china et all, is that the have no respect for intellectual property,
as long as this is the case it will continue.

Do you think we, sorry, Festool, has the 'rights' to 'green'?

I wouldn't have thought so.

My attitude would be simple.......if it's as good as a Festool and a lot cheaper I'll have one. If not you can stick it where the monkey........

Relax, it's not worth worrying about.

There are a few factories in China that make "the real deal" for a variety of products.  The day shift makes the "brand name", then the night shift makes the *exact* same product, just without any branding on it.  They change colors slightly, and then go sell them on the market.

The sad thing is, they aren't lesser copies, they're the exact same materials, craftsmanship, and most importantly, design.  So the notion that "if it's as good and a lot cheaper" simply means that they've stolen from Festool, but because it's as good as their product (it IS their product, just without their label), people will buy it.

I'm not saying that's the case here, but it's becoming an increasingly bigger problem for companies that have manufacturing done in countries with little or no respect for intellectual property laws.

I truly hope that Festool does do something about this as it is incredibly flagrant.  Fred

They do have some strange tools. What's with this chainsaw? It's the oddest (modern) thing I've ever seen.

The sad thing of it is, there's nothing that will (likely) be done about it.  Unfortunately, China seems to have little interest in enforcing international IP laws right now.  You see, it clamps down on economic growth for them - the ability to steal someone else's product is a LOT cheaper / easier / faster than designing your own.

Hi,

Probably for cutting beams, but it has quite the contraption look.
