I am new to the forum so I am not sure if this is posted in the correct place.

I got a CTL26E in the UK but I leave in Spain. I got a Spanish/German powder socket to be installed in place of the UK socket, to make it easier to connect any other power tool. My problem is that with the new socket the autostart is not working any longer  [eek]. The new socket installed is official from Festool Spain, and the wire connection is just the same, quite simple.

Any idea why this could affect the autostart of the CTL26?

There are tow different socket modules available :

part-number 496142 delivers permanent power this module has no auto start its function is to replace the extension cord
part-number 496405 has only power when the dial is on "AUTO" this module has the auto start function

Thanks for your reply. Those two modules are for the second socket, I got a replacement for the main one. I understand there is only one part number available for that socket ( based on the plug standard, I used the Type F Schuko ). With only three wires, same connections than the one i removed, but with a different Type ( old one, UK- Type G ).

Some questions:
Did you touch the cables only on the socket side?
Does it still start on 'man'?
How does the CT act currently (meaning: exact problem of 'autostart dosn't work') when set to 'auto':
Power on the socket but the vac dosn't start, the socket being dead, vac always running?
Any beeping?

I only touched the clables on the socket connectors, removed the short cables from the socket and screw them again in the new socket.

Now when I select the AUTO mode, the vac does not start and the socket has no power, so it keeps like OFF. But if I select MAN vac starts and the socket has power. There is no beep at any time.

As the socket has power on MAN but not on AUTO... sounds like a problem with the main switch (as the wires to the socket work), did you by chance (and accident) partly disconnect the main switch while changing the socket (it's hard to see from the drawing if it's connected by wires or directly seated onto the control board)?

Forget about beeping, that's only on the CTM (and I havn't had enough Coffee).
