festool CTM 26 E - Suction Fluctuating

Hi wonder if anyone can help me?
I have recently got a Festool CTM26e 230V it is approx 18months old and i purchased second hand but have been given the warranty certificate.

i used it for the first time while sanding with the RTSC 400 i have the 36mm hose with a reducer to the 27mm sander port and the CTM set to 36mm, it extracted all the dust flawlessly but i noticed the suction fluctuated "pulsing" is this normal? it is not the AC model so thought i would check if this is correct operation?

There is nothing normal about the suction pulsing, it should be an even, steady flow at all times.

Sounds like some scraps might be lodged in the hose somewhere. I know I have had that thumping sound happen before. Cleared the hose and all is well again.
