I have just ordered a CTM 36 E AC LHS 230v.  I am wondering if I have ordered the wrong thing.  Can someone tell me the difference between all of the different versions of this model.  I think I basically want the CTM 36 E AC as won't be using a Planex.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.\

Thanks

Matt

Ok well I won;t be doing anything with drywall.  Just sanding timber, MDF, wood filler etc.  Is the auto clean worthwhile for me, I will always have a bag in the machine too.

Does this mean that if I do some drywall work, then this is the better choice? That is, is the auto-clean function a nice perk without drawbacks when turned off and bags are used?

In the US and Canada the CT 36AC is not HEPA

The CT 36 AutoClean is the exact same machine as the CT 36 from the standpoint of its filtration system. You can purchase the HEPA filter separately and install it and it will function just like a CT 36. As you suggested, I would highly recommend that you disable the autoclean function while using a HEPA filter so that the filter is not compromised.

The CT 36 AutoClean is not designed or tested for use in RRP applications. If you need an extractor for RRP, I would suggest one of our other dust extractors, which have been specifically tested for that application.

AC vacuums are better because you don't need to use bags for anything, sanding, sawing, routing etc, etc. you only need to use bags if the stuff you are using is classes as hazardous and needs disposing of in the correct manner. The difference in cost of the AC vac is recouped by the savings you make on bags.
