Hello everybody!

Just received my new dust collector at home, and found the CLEANTEC bypass endpiece.

Unlike the normal end piece, the bypass version (used in combination with my ETS EC 125), does not seem te be a perfect fit. The normal one will turn on to the hose, the bypass version will not.

Am I doing something wrong? Because the bypass attachment won't stay on this way..

Many thanks for the one who has the solution.

Indeed, it comes in two pieces. However, the second piece, the one that should hold the outer piece is not a turning on. It is just a friction fit.. But there is no force needed to separate it from the hose..

Well... it seems like, the "by pass" adapter is supposed to be clicked on the normal adapter..

Correct.

It's an adapter, not a hose end.  It's designed to adapt one fitting to another.

In this video at 3:53 they explain that the flow alarm will be triggered with small sanders, so that might explain why the adapter comes with the CTM MIDI but not with the CTL.

I believe that the CTL and CTM are identical (same filters, etc...) except for the flow alarm electronics.

Interesting. Didn’t know this part existed! Will have to grab one to accompany my ctl sys.
Cheers

[member=66126]wpz[/member] The CTM and CTL can not be exactly the same. Because the CTM should filter out more of the small dust particles. The ones you don't see :). What the technical difference is, I couldn't find..

About the adapter.. I do like the possibility to release some suction from the ETS EC 125, but I don't like massive piece. I mean, it adds a lot of weight to the back of your sander. The sander I chose because of it size and weight.

Thats because there is no difference technically  [eek]

The filters for the CTM and CTL MIDI I, the CTL MINI I and the CT 15 E are all the same (part# 204200), So Festool only produces M class filters.
The bags are also the same (part# 204308), which I found weird BTW, because the MINI has a smaller capacity than the MIDI, but uses the same bag.

If you look in the EKAT, there are only 2 different parts between the CTL and CTM and both are electronics.
The problem is that in order to get European M class certification, you need to have a flow rate alarm on the vacuum.
So if you take this alarm away your vacuum becomes a L class even though it has M class filtration.

The CTH range does have different filters and bags to comply with the H class certification.

Disclaimer:
All the above is my personal opinion, not checked with Festool, so keep in mind I might actually be wrong (so don't sue me)
Would be nice if we could get an official Festool explanation on this forum, but I'm not holding my breath for that one :-)

Ha, look at this, you did your homework :').

Good to know.. Well already bought the M class, so I fell for it anyway :')...
