Festool Demo Tool

Hi There,

If a retailer sells a demo discontinued C12 Lithium Ion Drill kit to me, does the warranty still apply?

Glad you chimed in since I was completely wrong.  Why is that especially if bought from a dealer?  I may be wrong again, but if I buy a tool from a private seller, the warranty is transferable for the remainder of the time period from date of purchase, correct?

From Festool USA's website:

"Conditions of 1 + 2 Limited Warranty

All customers receive a free extended limited warranty (1 year + 2 years = 3 Years) on new Festool power tools purchased from an authorized retailer. "

Note use of the word NEW

Wonder if the dealer has to register the tool as demo with Festool.

I work for a retailer. Not sure if this holds for Festool, but when a retailer wants a tool to use as a demo, it is purchased from the OEM at a special price. That special pricing does not include a warranty. So when the retailer sell off a demo, there is no warranty on that particular tool. We state that up front when selling a demo.
