Why are you selling your domino Chris?

Chris,

I have used a Biscuit jointer for too many years. I could not get used to the metal locating pins on this Domino.
The pins always seemed to be in the way.
I bought one of the newer Domino's with the plastic tabs. The tabs can be locked back flush with the fence.
I like that much better.

Chris

You could have easily just said, I have both types and decided to get rid of the older style with no particular reasoning behind it.  I respect your integrity mentioning the specific reason of the pins annoyances.  It was one of the occasional comments I read about when I was researching and deciding which type to buy that hadme leaning towards the tab style which is what I bought.

But for those thinking they would suffer buying this type, I think it's fair to say that if you've never really used the tab style, you probably won't be bothered by the pin style which does offer benefits over the tab style, such as being able to easily index from one mortise to the next and being able to easily adapt it to the LR32 plate per Jerry Work's "Getting The Most of Your Festool Domino."

The ol' pins vs. tabs debate.

I prefer the pins.  You can use them to register a row of mortises.  AND, they are more adjustable to set the edge-to center offset.

For any prospective buyers, don't let the pins scare you away!
