Festool drill has a broken trigger. Where do I send it to get it fixed? Thanks

Dave,

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about the problem with your drill. You can use the repair form on the web page that Neil provided. I would encourage you to consider calling our service department. Sometimes the trigger contact and get dirty and just actuating the trigger can self-clean it, for instance. Also, they can send you a return label if the tool is less than a year old. When returning a tool, it's not necessary to ship it in the Systainer. In fact, I would recommend that you do not since it risks damage.

If I can be of assistance, feel free to contact me. sho@festoolusa.com

Should I include the battery for the repair ? Also I misspoke its not the trigger its the right and left switch. Also have a question about the chuck. The bits always seem to come loose. Is there something I can do to fix this?

Regarding the chuck  depends when you bought the drill.  Now they come with a locking ratchet chuck but they didn't use to until people complained I suppose.

In the UK when they brought out the new drill they decided to cop out on the Jacob chuck.

Very odd and also very very very annoying something which still angers me!  Thing is I had a Bosch which was 10years old which had a locking ratchet on the Jacob chuck so it's not like its new so why festool decided not to bother having it on their drill is crazy.

£66 for the new improved version which I have refused to buy for over 3 years to buy to replace my crappy festool chuck

If you're confident that the battery is not part of the problem, it's not necessary to include the battery.

Like JMB said, the drills have had a ratcheting chuck for several years now, which makes it easier to crank down on the bit. After your insert the insert and get it fairly tight, you should be able to turn the chuck by hand and hear it click.

+1

I bought a T15 when it came out (my 3rd festool product) and was delighted with it (even tho it cost so much more than a mainstream make) but the chuck started playing up and bit dropping out. I had a dewalt at that time and never had problem with chuck. But it got so annoyed that i did buy the newer version.
