Hi All,

I've seen a handful of titles on ebay. I haven't seen any sample content (that always makes me wary).

Generally I find a lot of "how to" books to be geared towards creating revenue for the publisher instead of helping the guy that bought the book ...

Anyone had a look at these titles? If so, do you have any thoughts on them?

As usual - I'm looking for the third kind of knowledge (the things I don't know that I don't know).

Help and hints, videos, etc generated by an enthusiastic community are usually a much higher value than anything produced "for profit" ... the only issue is you tend to learn things in a "oh - I should have done it "that way" fashion  [embarassed]

The only title that I was vaguely interested in was the domino I was told there was nothing in the book that was not in the instruction manual

it was just a glossier thing  [huh]

This forum is the greatest knowledge resource and a post of "How do I do this??" generates a lot of response. People here are good at sharing knowledge and experience.

I would save your dollars to help your Festool fund!

Don't wast your time with the books.  I tried the Domino book and it was just a prettier manual and a sales brochure for the CT's.  Your much better off downloading the supplemental manuals.

I flipped through several of these, and wound up buying one.
Mostly they are a very, very basic instruction manuals.  Imagine the standard (sparse) user manual that comes with a took, with some accompanying pictures and you’ve got the right idea.
And half of each book is dedicated to CTs (and it’s the same content in each book).

The one I purchased was the router book, mostly because it had a really good section on the accessories, bits, etc.  It wasn’t very instructional, but it provided more information and images than the normal retail catalog.

If you're interested in that router one, PM me and I'll send it to you for the cost of shipping.

i skimmed throught the router one, it looked like a pictorial of the different attachments in use for each router. like i said briefly skimmed

I ordered the router book online, without looking at it first, and wish I hadn't picked it up.  It is mostly just info you can get from the Festool website, with a little bit of extra instruction thrown in.  You can get better info here on the FOG.
