Hi,

Did someone tried to install the Festool HK 85 EB in the Festool CMS system instead of the TS 75?!
I have neither the CMS-MOD-TS 75 nor the Festool HK 85 EB but I am curious if the HK 85 EB saw will fit into the CMS-MOD-TS 75 instead of the TS 75. If YES than this should give us an extra 10 mm depth of cut and some extra power while working with the CMS!

The HK 85 EB fits on the guiderails so it should also fit into the CMS-MOD-TS 75 and since the HK 85 EB is not a plunge saw- it works a little bit different -  it does not need the lever that is necessary for the TS 55 and TS 75 ….so it looks to me that it is only a matter to find a way to attach the HK 85 EB saw to the plate of the CMS-MOD-TS 75…. am I right or wrong?!  Could someone check it please?

Regards

I don't have the HK, in theory it should fit should the base plate be the same size (and form at the short ends) as the TS75.

In practice it would be a bad idea (from a festool standpoint) as the blade guard would most likely go fully defunct, exposing the open blade to the user - a thing that they don't do for good reasons (ten of them, to be precise, which I guess we all want to keep).

I agree the blade guard will probably not working… but anyway it is just a question … have someone tried it out?  Is it possible to attach the HK 85 EB saw to the CMS-MOD-TS 75 plate or not?

I think HK85 is a better candidate for CMS than TS75. No need for a separate depth adjustment contraption, much sturdier trunions, and a grove cutter option. Blade guard could probably be added somehow. After all in TS75/55 table setup it is also an add on feature.
