Festool made in?

Hey every one. Just a quck question!! When I was packing my tools away after work today I noticed on my Ehl 650 in the bottom corner of the label it said made in Czech republic, all my other festools say made in Germany. Was wondering if this was unusual.

No it isn't.  Most of the Festool products I have purchased were made in Germany but a few were made elsewhere in Europe.

My LS130 also says Made in the Czech Republic.  Seems to work just fine.  ;-)

I was told by a Festool UK employee that some Festools (specifically MFTs, but possibly others) are shipped to the USA as kits, and are assembled in the Lebanon facility.

Perhaps Shane can confirm/deny/elaborate on this.

Some of the Festools are made in the Czech Republic - I'm sure the details are on festool.de, but I've just been to check and both the UK and German websites are down at the moment...

I also noticed some of the sanding profiles I have for my LS130 were made in the CR.

As far as my other Festools, I will have to "Check" them out.

Czech Republic points to Narex / Protool (TTS Tooltechnic Systems (parent company of Festool) bought Narex in the 1990s). Narex / Protool makes some stuff which is labeled "Festool", while Festool makes some stuff which is labeled "Protool" (e.g. at least a few years ago, the Protool cordless drills were made in Wendlingen). When TTS/Festool bought HolzHer in 2000, they moved some HolzHer-Products to the Protool Product Line and other HolzHer-Tools to the Festool Product-Line (planers and the belt sander are still almost 100% the old HolzHer-Products).

Nothing wrong with where something is made...just so long as it is made to the specifications laid down by the parent company.
It's when the parent company starts to cut corners I don't buy from them any more.... are you listening Dewally and co.?
I am quite happy to buy Festool branded tools and accessories and pay a premium to do so, as long as I get the service and quality that premium entails.
After that goes I will go back to hand tools where I started out, and find another means of earning a living or a clientele happy to pay me a premium for bespoke hand wrought joinery or furniture. But I think I stand more chance of winning the lottery! [laughing] ;D

think this has been discussed on here before regards where things are made. I have a dewalt 18v drill made in germany with japanese battries, doesnt mean its better than the mexican made 1 i have, likewise for festool stuff
