I have cut full table edge profiles in mahogany with my 1400 router (new 2 3/4" diameter carbide bit) and the biggest (the only) problem was that the CT 22 could not collect the chips. So I moved my work outside and let the chips fly. But even PC, the makers of the PC 7518 which is perhaps the most common commercial table router in USA recommend taking smaller cuts with such large profile bits.
I have a Triton mounted in my router table and my raised panel is from Marc Sommerfeld. What everyone has said is true. Light cuts. Sommerfeld makes it easy as he furnishes a larger bearing to use with the first cut. Even with the 2nd cut with the smaller bearing, I do a light pass and go back for a third, LIGHT pass.
