Festool Polishes and release agent

I was watching a video on polishing lacquer and between the 800, 1000 and 1200 grit sanding he used what he called a release agent to clean the work between grits. I can't find it anywhere. was he using a festool release agent item or was it some kind of generic item. I don't know what he was using. Anyone that polish's lacquer do you know what he is referring to when he says hes using a release agent.

The "release agent" is not sold in the US/Canada.

You want to remove any residue / grit from the surface before progressing through the grits.

I'd suggest that you mix up a 50/50 batch of denatured alcohol and filtered water as a "release agent", and put it in a spray bottle.  The alcohol acts as a solvent and the mixture dries more quickly that water only.  It's also good for cleaning solid surface material.
