Festool Protection Pads for Granat

Just looking at the Highland Woodworking website

What is the protection pad they are referring to for the Granat ?

It is used with the granat net abrasives to protect the sanding pad of the machine.

It goes in between the paper and the sole of the sander like an interface pad.

I've used the protection pad with the net abrasives and consider them a must have for that application. I would also use them with regular sandpaper if I was working on rough sanding jobs where the edges of the main pads can get worn.

There are different products:

A) Protective Pad
- this is used when using NET Abrasives
- Festool has one (sold in pair of 2)
- you can also use the Mirka ones (holes match Festool as well on the protective pad)

B) Interface Pad
- this is basically a 1/2inch thick piece of foam to put between the sander and the Sandpaper
- This would be used, if you want to sand especially „wavy/soft“ surfaces

Granat Net is not made for the RO 90 so a protection pad is not available. You could cut down a 125 or a 150 protection pad.
