Festool Quick Release MFT clamps: some questions

These clamps look like exactly what I need for a jig I am making. My question is whether they can be used with standard dog holes or what size hole they need?

I do not have the Festool MFT table and for my purposes I don’t need it assuming I can get these clamps to work with a self made table or with something like the Veritas medium work surface.

Also I assume the clamp head comes off of the bar so you can insert it through the holes in the MFT, right?

Fits 20mm holes in a 3/4” or 19mm thick surface. I don’t think the time comes off and you don’t need to remove it

Use them on the spoilboard of my CNC, 3/4” MDF w 20mm holes.

Open the clamp fully and it will turn into a 18/20mm hole providing no work piece or obstruction is in the way on the work surface
