Well after contemplating it for about 8 months and seeing Johnny Round Boys efforts. I finally got the bits together and made my Festool radio.

I only wanted it for a radio hence why it is in the Sys II.
The radio I was using also would only let me use it in a classic Sys II.

It's full DAB, which was the main reason for me building the radio.
Has two nice sized 3.5" speakers.

Runs off a rechargeable battery when not plugged into the mains, which is powered by a plug-it cord.

Must give a hats off to JRB for letting me pick his brain.

Comments and feedback welcome.

Why didn't you put the display in the recessed area just above the current position.
You might have a reason for not doing that, maybe it's to big for that?

Yeah I couldn't get it up any higher due to the construction of the psu board and it thus stopping the lid from shutting.

You've inspired me to make one now. How do these sound? I imagine parts need to be glued securely to prevent rattling and vibrating. Any suggestions on radio type? I also must have either mini ipad dock or aux input line. Any input would be great
