Festool Replacable Turbo Bags vs Longlife Dust Bag - DTS 400

I have a few projects where a dust bag will just be easier than connecting to a DE. In looking online, I can get the longlife dust bag or a 5 set of turbo bags with the plastic adapter for about $5 more.

My question is, it does seem like it would take some time to fill up 5 bags worth of sawdust for someone who mostly remodels his own home weeknights and weekends. I'm trying to figure out if the long life dust bag is just easier and will it actually last as long as 5 replaceable bags?

Depends on what you're doing, in case you use certain machines a bag that can be emptied can make sense: tools like a HL 850 planer or the routers can create a stunning quantity of chips in a very short time...

If you have the new generation sander I do not think the paper version works with it and you would need to buy the long life chip bag. If you have the older version, then I think you have to use the paper version.

I have used the new style on my new version RTS and it does well for not having a vacuum. I recommend it for times an extractor is not feasible. I have the paper versions for some of my other sanders but have never used them so cannot comment on effectiveness. It would take awhile to fill 5 bags worth of dust.

Thanks for the info, yes the sander I would be using it with is my DTS 400, which is my newest sander...bought new a few weeks ago. So i guess that answers my question
