I can almost understand when there's a bit of buyer frenzy - but here's a monster ego setting a starting price of $2,700.

A 5000W step down trannie can be had for $250

That leave over $600 for friendly shipping.

I had a TV show going in the background one day and they talked about selling stuff and what to price it at. 

To cut to the chase... They said Ebay is where stupid goes to buy stuff and smart people go to sell stuff. As Ebay =  retail plus, plus, plus = Mega bucks.

The up side is Ebay makes retail look cheap... so go for it.
