Festool T15+3 Broke!

Hey, I was just wondering because I looked all over the Internet and I can not find anything about it. I live in the UK! I got the New Festool T15+3 Lithium Drill 3/4 weeks ago I have only actually used it for one full week. I loved the drill it was brilliant really powerfull and very small smaller than any drill I know with the same power! Any way I noticed while using the drill wen I changed gears from 1 and 2 some times it would not let me put it fully into second gear so i would put it back into first gear and back into second and it would then.  Now i dont know if thats normal but  today i was scewing 90mm screw into a piece of wood in first gear and the drill just STOPED! The batterie was fully charged so i pulled the trigger again and nothing!!! I put it into second gear and the drill started running on its self i i didnt have to pull the trigger it was just running it self i flicked it back into first and it stopped and flicked it back into second and it started running again. 

I bet I was the unfortunate person in the whole world who got the faulty drill.

140 views and nobody has offered any advice ? Surely one of the Festool dealers has an inkling of what the problem might be.
Personally it just reinforces my belief that Festool drills are crap, but I know I am in the minority there.

Ken You don't like Festool drils get over it, or not. Most have found them to be right for them.

Remember that Ken Millinch is not the original poster with the problem drill. Ken (who apparently hates Festool drills!) hails from Australia, whereas the original poster, jmbfestool, is from the UK, and loves the drill - except for having the problem!

I'm very sorry that you are having a problem with the drill. Unfortunately, your question relates to a new product that isn't yet available in the USA, and since that's where the majority of forum members come from, there won't be many members who have even seen one, never mind own one. The problem sounds serious, and I think you should return it.

Festool UK offers a 1 + 2 year warranty on all power tools, and you can view details of the warranty, and the claim procedure on the warranty page of the Festool website.

If you bought from a local dealer, I suggest that you speak to them before contacting Festool.

I am surprised to hear that someone doesn't like the festool drills.  I am interested to hear the reasons why.

I've been using them for 6 or 7 years and have no complaints.  I particularly like the lightweight C12.  If anyone else made a drill with a fast fix chuck that allowed off centre and right angle drilling I'd be pleased to know because they are not cheap, but then the oldest one of the three I have has outlasted a Makita and a Bosch,  They are not heavy duty powerful drills but for jobs like kitchen fitting I find them excellent.  The centrotec bits are very expensive, but work very well and are quite a time saver (although maybe they don't exist in metric)

There is a few threads as to why. Mostly my issue is cost. The exact reason that make them so nice for many is the exact reason I do not like them.

First off I want a different unit for each task so I do not have to fiddle around. Second, I truly believe the batteries are still nowhere close to 5 year old Panasonic's 3.5 ah batteries, heck Festool should have the BEST batteries currently offered.  Third, unlike many once again I do not find them ergonomic at all FOR ME and do not like the feel of them. Fourth, many like the balance of the Festool, but to me the balance point should be at the trigger with me holding the drill like a gun. Fifth, for the price I can have my separates with better batteries for the same cost, in other words not a lot of bang for MY buck.

Some of these statements are fact, some are opinion, but they are my reasons my for not liking the Festool cordless offerings. I am sure someone can counter every issue I have with their own points being opposite of mine, which is fine.  There are plenty of Festools I could not live without, this is just not one of them.

I agree with pretty much everything Nick has said. I also believe the build quality is poor in comparison to other drills (Milwaukee & Panasonic for example). I am hooked on Festool, just hate their drills.

Thank you every BODY!!!!!!  YEah of course  i sent it right back!! Getting it fixed but really i think i should of had a new one personaly cus i hardly used it!  Any way  I just wanted to know if i wasnt the only one with a fault festool drill cus i would be tempted to try and get my money back but as it stands im the only one with the fualty drill! I got many other festool tools and love them thats why i bought the drill! I am waiting for the  milwaukee M18 Range  impact and the driver! which unfortunatly can not get in england yet! I tink milwaukee and festool are the top tools 2 buy including Fein!!!!!
