Does anyone have any comments on this particular item?.. I personally i'm interested in it, because
i wan't to put al my carpenter tools in it, to take them along with me on site!

I'm also thinking about making it myself, but, i'm also looking forward to yall guys opinion and tips!!

Maybe some photo's of your personal layout of the insert..

Thanks already!!! [big grin]

That would be this thing (I thought I'd save everyone else from having to look it up).

I know some members have made their own custom version.

Well, I like the Veto Pro Pack for my small tools.  Plus with the Veto you can sling it over your shoulder and carry your Festool Systainers.

While I'm a fan of Systainers and the Veto Pro Pack, I like the CLC Backpack Tool Bag best (42 pockets!).

It slings over both shoulders (easier on the back) and it leaves both hands free for systainers.

I really like it.

Here's what I did with mine.

I requested it be swapped into a Sys5.  Bob Marino was very accomodating and arranged this (charging only the difference in cost between Sys4 vs Sys5).  This leaves a good amount of space underneath and/or on top.  I keep a 12" level, light bar, gloves, etc etc in there.

I really have gotten attached to this thing.  I put it on a roll board, and it has become my mainstay toolbox.  I like that I can stack other tools on top of it, roll it where I need it, and detach the upper boxes.

You can also see in that thread, that I have a homemade "under" tray that I had built prior.  By coincidence it fit perfectly.  This is good for some random rarely used tool.  I keep some hex sets, small screwdrivers, a spare 6" adjustable wrench, etc in there.

The CLC over both shoulders!!! Very cool as I learn something new everyday. I have one of their electrical tool pouches and it wasn't too pricey.  nycneal thanks for the info.  Kurt

Hi,

Some possibilities................

Some costing less, some costing more.

The Craftsman tote would be an inexpensive way to try out the concept.

The Site set up could be reduced to one stack for just the carpentry hand tools and the Sortainer / Systainer combos give great instant access.

I  don't have the insert you are interested in, but it does look like it would work well.

I have been using it for a little over 6 months and find it very handy in locating all tools required for trim work and kitchen cabinet installations.  In it, I store small levels, scribe tool, small hammer, nail punch, clamps, small glue bottle, miter clamps, small block plane, adjustable squares(2), screwdrivers, awls, pliers, pencils, files, fret saw, dovetail saw, small dozuki, pry bar, drill bits, etc. I think everyone gets the idea.  I also own a Veto Pro Pac which is used for other tools related to other tasks.  After having owned both I equally would recommend them but for their specific purposes.

It appears that quite a few pictures that I posted before Festool took over ownership of this forum are now missing.  I contacted Shane about this and there is nothing that he can do.   [sad]  So, when I know about missing photos in threads, I will retrieve them from my computer backup and place them into the thread again. This will take some time.

Right now, I have re-inserted my photos into the referenced thread (that is: http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tools-accessories/tool-organizer/30/).  I hope that you find them to be helpful.

By the way, my tool holder from Festool is for sale, if anyone would like to make me an offer.  That's just the wooden tool holder -not the systainer 4 that it came in.
