Dear All!!

I'm going to buy a TS75 and I plan to use it ripping an cross-cuting hard woods like ipê. And I need recommendations about the blade I should use.

Have you used TS 75 on hard wood? Do you like it?

I use my TS75 on hardwood all the time.  So far I have been fine using the standard blade that comes with it.  The cuts have been very, very good.  If I were to rip thicker material like 51 +mm then I would probably opt for the Panther blade -- the cut might be a little rougher, but it would go through the material easier with fewer teeth.  I think that the TS75 is a perfect saw for thick hardwoods.

I'm wondering the same from someone who has dealt with Ipe also as I'm about to build an Ipe surfaced deck as well.  Is there a better blade to use with my TS75 than the standard blade?

I have read that Ipe is 3 times the hardness of hard maple, and that it is hard on blades but is not so bad that you'll go crazy resharpeneing.  I got some good feedback last year on this thread I started on another forum you may want to read.

I have used the standard 36t blade and it works very well.  I cut lots of oak and maple and much of it is reclaimed old material up to  the 75mm depth of the saw.  I have the panther blade as well it really rips thru, but on some of the really deep cuts, it is almost too aggressive as the saw seems to really be taxed by it.  I use the 68 tooth one for crosscuts and it works well.  Just remember to keep the blades sharp and in good repair.

Thanks Scot and Seth! I'll follow your tips and let you know about the results.

SRSemenza, ipê is really hard. I'm going to US and will buy the TS75 and blades there. If you can wait, I will be back on the 27th and make a test and report to you guys.
