I am sure this subject has been done to death but I have just been looking at MFT squares.
I think Festool should programme there cnc machines and start to make there own.
How much were they going for, they must be having a laugh.

Mostly these squares are a kind of 'I wanna be sure'-thing. If you use dogs to set up your MFT in the different ways that have been explained on this site, your cuts WILL be square. And if you are a*al like some of us, you will want to make sure by using a fifty or one hundred and fifty dollar square to check…

(And yes, I own one of these squares.)

Easiest thing it the world to cut and calibration check a right angle. Making a large "squaring triangle" simply to calibration check an MFT setup is easy. I'm guessing that those Festool engineers probably can't comprehend that people really do spend hundreds of dollars on a piece of shiny aluminium that is dedicated to checking the square of an MFT.

I'm not knocking it either ... If I see something nice and shiny at my local I often leave the store with it [big grin]

Chris Makes the best squares I know of. You can't go wrong with one of his

Love the magic square LOL and not as expensive as a shiny red $295 mft triangle.
Don't get me wrong if they were about £45 I would have one tomorrow but not just to line up the mft which can be lined up with dogs or my roofing square.
I can't believe people have that kind of money to spend on a square that they could make out of mdf, not having a go just jealous  LOL.
