Hey guys I'm looking for a blade suitable for fiber cement. Have a lot of WEDI panel to cut and it's eating up my wood blades fast and I can't find a cement type blade anywhere. I heard about the festool PCD blade but can't find any info about it anywhere.

Any tips of what blade will work or which blade will work but I can send to somewhere to get it bored out to 30mm arbor and where would I send it to get the arbor cut?

Thanks

[I am updating this post as a summary about the topic of fiber cement blades that fit the Festool tracksaws.]

CMT and Frezite make fiber cement blades that fit the TS 75 amd TS 55. The photo attached to this message shows the difference in shapes of the CMT and Frezite blades.  Have any European FOG-ers compared the CMT and Frezite blades?

US CMT source  http://www.tool-home.com/products/catalog/contact_us.php (Tom Bellemare)

Don't know if CMT is available in the US, but they make a blade for fiber cement, Ø190mm with a Ø30mm bore, perfect for the TS75.  I have that blade both for the TS55 and TS75, and use it to cut sheets of 8mm thick fiber cement, perfect, long lasting.  So the WEDI boards should give you no trouble at all.

CMT 236-series blade - Europe

The TS75 blade cost about €145 (sales  tax of 21% included), not cheap...

Apparently in th US there offering is more limited.

I use the 236.004.07, 7-1/4" PCD blade, on my cheapo Ryobi. It cuts Hardie like a hot knife through butta'. They're actually orange not like shown in the image on my site.

I sell those blades and can get the blades from Europe but it can take 3-4 weeks to get them here.

Yeah , I can't see the use/need for using a TS75 for cutting cement board , that just too nice a saw for to have & then be fouled by the cement dust , I use my old Skillsaw for jobs like that .
but I guess if your getting paid well for the job then the wear & tear on a Festool is part of the bid for the job I would figure .

I cut all my cement board products with the TS 55 hooked to my CT 22.  Can't beat it for this type of work. Truth be told, I used a Kapex to cut a few cwment board lap siding pieces.

I have wasted a few blades. Always meant to get a blade from overseas, never did. Next order with Tom he'll be getting me the CMT blade.

Bummer  :'( I used an old TS55 blade for some WEDI I just installed but didn't realize there was a blade for that specific use. I also had to cut some Hardi and it was a PIA trying to score and break so I resorted to an angle grinder with diamond blade...

A few cuts with the stock blade on Wedi will not have much of an affect on the blade. The concrete surface over the foam is fairly thin. I think Barri has a lot to do so an investment in a blade would be worth it to him.

Hardi, DuroRock are different animals in the same family when compared to Wedi of Schulter board. I want the blade for the cement backer products and siding.

Ooooff.  Just got a Frezite quote.

Frezite A887.160.010.20 US$251.00

Frezite A887.190.012.30 US$298.00

thanks for the replies guys. i used my spare 16 tooth to cut a couple of boards and it destroyed the blade. can hardly even rip a 1x material now. the wedi board does cut easy but its hard on the blade.

I will take a closer look at these options you guys gave me and figure out the best way to go. The CMT def seams like a winner but can they be bored out to 30mm or do they come 30mm?

The tool is easily replaced but my lungs not so much. The TS range is possibly the best saw available for cement type boards and they are found everywhere in the US which makes me wonder why festool dont offer the PCD blade here! it seems the best place to sell it. i aint worried about the warranty as im using it in a CMS anyway so warranty is already void but i doubt the dust will affect the saw. i have not found any dust at all around the motor housing so the vac is def doing its job.

Yes , I see your point , as I to value my lungs , any cement boards I've cut were outside in the fresh air & I actually placed a fan blowing on the work to get that dust away from me . Cement is nasty stuff to get on your skin let alone inhaling the junk !
but If your cutting a lot of the stuff & the need for being precise being very important  then the TS75 wins hands down  .
Good to know that it keeps it's self clean from dust build-up .

The CMT 236.190.04M, which was discussed above, has a 30mm diameter bore.
The CMT 236.190.12M, which was also discussed above, has a 30mm diameter bore.
