Finishing T&G ceiling

[Daumcontracting]

I'm going to be staining and finishing about 1000 sq ft of 6" t&g select cedar for a porch ceiling. Im finishing all sides prior to installation and  I'm wondering if using my ets 150/5 would leave swirl marks in the cedar or should I invest in a sheet sander?
