Well they aren't 3D or anything cool like that but was happy with my first time doing cuttingboards.

Very nice, they look so simple to make but turns out to be a lot of work. Did you have to re-cut the cutting board twice on the bandsaw and reclampthe strips in?

Well...sometimes less is more. I happen to like them alot.  [big grin]

Yeah I made a curved template with the bandsaw and used a router and cut 3/4 out with the router and finished cut to seperate with the bandsaw, then flush trimmed with router. Then add strips and glue and repeat for however many lines you want to do.
 
Great idea. We're the inlay strips flexible enough to go into the grooves without steaming them?
 
Yeah I kept the curves so they didn't require any steam. There are 5 pieces in each curve and they are roughly 1/4" total width. My thickest strip is still under 1/8"
