First Festool Cordless purchase ... advice

Thinking HKC 55(576818) and wanting a cordless drill just for everyday diy guy. I’m considering (576451) using batteries from hkc? Thoughts?

Once ya buy some tools with batteries and a charger then you can save a few bucks (nothings a few bucks with FT) and start buying the basics.

Im mean how many batteries and chargers do ya need.

I guess the question would be whether you see more value in an HKC or TSC.  The HKC for me would not have that much value if I were just working from home, where it usually only gets pulled out to cross cut rough lumber that is either too big or too twisted to do on the Miter saw.  Where it really comes in handy is when I have to work on site, where it can often save me the hassle of having to lug a miter saw.  And I find it to be too underpowered to have much function as a substitute tracksaw.  You have the TS75, but the TSC still might be a good addition.  Much easier to work with when setting up for narrower rip cuts or bevel cuts than the TS75.   

But yeah -- once you get the full kit for one cordless tool, the subsequent bare tool purchases become a lot more reasonable.  And you can't go wrong with the T18 as your main cordless drill.

Seems like a nice combo to start out with. Defintely can't go wrong with the T18. And Edward's (ear3) points about a HKC or TSC are a very valid consideration. I have a corded TS55 and a standard DeWalt DW65 circular saw, the TS gets a lot more use with me, mostly  for breaking down sheet material. But it all depends on what you're planning to do.

Edward, does the HKC have a lot less power than the TSC? One might think they have more or less the same type of motors.

I’ll be contrary on the drill. This kit from Milwaukee will do everything you would need as a homeowner unless you’re building a deck.

Great points about the TSC, can’t wait to see thoughts on that vs hkc . Also want to know about set up of tsc . I have the ts75 and it’s definitely more trouble to set up/use.

I don’t foresee using on sheet goods too often

I’m definitely a diy guy and all my tools don’t need to be used all day but I definitely want them to perform when called on...I’m trying to say the saw, drill won’t be in my hands all day

TSC55 has 2 * 18V batteries, I've read it's more powerful than the TS55.  I have an HKC55, which has only one battery, and does certainly at times feel underpowered.  The FSK rails are very convenient though, and it can also use the FS rails - which I like for rough cutting sheet goods for construction projects, because my TS 75 is big and bulky.  I would not use it on sheet goods destined for cabinetry, because in my experience the TS75 does give a more refined cut.
