Ya, that also caught my attention...dry wall folks in the US seem to be more focused on the hanging, taping & mudding process and then just getting to another job.
When I engage myself in a project I do absolutely everything myself except for 3 items, drywall finishing, asphalt shingle installation and wood flooring refinishing. Everything else I do myself because I can control the end result.
I really like the idea of not breaking through the drywall surface paper and just forming the drywall in the manner that you want to.
