I saw this on youtube and thought it was an excellent design.  I think it is well suited for heavier tools.  I may attempt this for my DW735 and Rigid OSS.  Wanted to share as it does not look like it has been seen much across the interwebs....

Flip Top Tool Stand

I have my Ryobi planer and my Rigid oscillating sander on a flip top.  No arms or gizmos.  Just an center pivot.  Works great.  I lock it and let turn on it's own to it's equilibrium point where it will stop.  Then I can easily upright the tool I want and lock it.

Just wanted to clarify - this is not my design or build - I found the video and really liked the design so wanted to share it with the fine folks here.

I will however, be making this going forward.  Something about it strikes me as a very effective design for heavy objects vs those on a center rod.  May not be any difference really, but it just seems more stable for heavy stuff.

Innovative design to be sure. I think this design would work with two tools of similar weight, but the DW735? That weighs almost 100lbs by itself. I was thinking about doing something similar with my mitre saw and planer until I got my DW735. Now I'll build a planer stand and have my compressor on two shelves blow it (I can separate my compressor from my tank).

Can you provide a link to the video that you mentioned or give some particulars about the location of the pivot points? I really like that and could use it in the limited space I have.
