FS3000 Storage and Shipping Container

I was expecting my 3000 rail it to come in a container made of wood and a hardboard like material that could be reinforced to use for storage. I was surprised when mine arrived in a cardboard box with half dozen or so foam pieces around the rail and a couple 1x2's lining the sides of the box. When did this change?

Is there any problem storing the rail in a rigid container on its side or is it best stored flat? I do not have the height in my garage to hang it on the wall.

I think they got rid of the wood frame / hardboard top shipping containers at least ten years ago. [unsure]

I bought my FS3000 new 4 years ago and it came in a hardboard/timber box. I still use it today to store & transport the rail.
I store the box laying flat, not on edge...!!

Mines came with a wood frame and a hard board top and bottom., shipped it to the UK in the same wood frame and hard board, now shippingit home in the same frame...
