FSK rail moving adjuster out of detents

Having a problem moving the adjuster out of the detents, changing from i.e., 45 to 90. It is two-handed job.

My dealer sent me a new 250 rail but still the same problem. This problem occurs with both the FSK420 and 250.
Is there a trick to this?

Seems to me that the spring clip is too close to the rail or the clip is too stiff.  Ordinarily you would press one end of
the clip to raise the "lip" out of the detent, not happening here.

Once it is out of a detent it slides easily but getting it out of the detent is a problem. Am I doing something incorrectly?

Funny, i had exactly the same issue when i picked up my first FSK rail. I was finding it really hard to move the stop out of the detents on the scale. Ultimately, it was a change in technique that totally solved the issue in an instant!

Forget trying top operate the stop via the rocker mechanism that it apears to have, it does not perform as a rocker despite its looks. Instead simply undo the locking knob and, gripping the whole adjustment knob in an all emcompasing grip from above, below and the side - and slide it with a little force and you will discover the the adjuster will slide in/out and past the detents with ease.

Not having my rail on hand, i can't be exactly sure of my above description, but i do remember a breakthrough moment where i stoped tying to use the "rocker" that actually didn't work as a rocker.

The rocker is not rocking. So the problem is a flaw, not operator's.  Strange that there aren't more complaints.

The technique described by mrB doesn't require two hands.  I've always done it as he describes and I've never had a problem.

As Brice says, and maybe I wasn't clear before. . I can now do it with one hand, very easily, every time.

It was struggling struggling every time with it, then suddenly I just realise I was applying pressure in the wrong manner, and suddenly it was easy. 
Literally forget the detents and the cam are there and just slide it like they weren't there, suddenly it will work.
