Just saw a recall on the KAPEX on on the dutch FT website.

Fort those missed it and might have one, maybe worth to check it out.

Not a clue which countries are affected (if any specific).

The google translation makes it sound like the "smoking motor" issue that was already addressed in a recall, but I may be conflating two unrelated ideas...?

Still the same thing, Apart from the retrofit, it also gets a tune up. Mine got a new powercord, new rubber funnel for the dustcollection, new laserlensecover and clear bladeguard. It slides smoother again, and the high cutting position latch flips back up again as smooth as it used too.
(I did do a small modification to the the transparant bladeguard in the past that I have to look up again somewhere, I filed a tiny corner off to fix an issue with it hanging up sometimes, I send it back to festool within the warranty to fix it, but they didn't find the problem, back then: murphy's law; as soon as I got it back it hung up again. The tip that showed which little corner to file off a little fixed it. Now with the new bladeguard it isn't that pronounced, but I noticed it staying open once, )
