I bought myself some new A/V equipment this winter and decided it needed a new home.  I have been a big fan for sometime of the Greene & Greene style and wanted to build something large with that styling, this was the perfect project to get my feet wet on!!  The entire cabinet is made from solid cherry, including the drawer bottoms, with ebony accents.  The vertical post are 1.5" square extruded aluminum from 8020 Inc. along with several "L" brackets.  The drawers are mounted on soft close full extension slides and will be used to house DVD's and remotes.  The shelves are infinitely adjustable by sliding the "L" brackets up or down the post.  The entire cabinet was finished with water based General Finishes products, all sprayed with Fuji HVLP.

Very nice !  And your a Festool guy so of course you have a Mcintosh amp.  Love it !  :)

Very nice job.  [smile] I really like the innovative use of 8020 and L brackets combined with G & G design features.

This really turned out beautifully. I love the combination of the metal and G and G. You really did a great job of blending the old style with the new.
Great Job !

Thanks guys.  Cort actually I have built several pairs of speakers over the past 8 years but now I have some "store bought" electrostatic speakers.  I have had a love affair with electrostatic sound for many years and finally had a good enough year last year to buy a pair.

Drooooll... Gorgeous job!

Mcintosh MA6600 ?

Spill it, which Martin Logan's did you go with?  [big grin]

You have good taste in av equipment! (see my signature)

The Mac is my C2300 preamp.  I have two MC275 tube amps, operating in mono, running my ML Summit X speakers.  I should be able to finish my G&G stands for the amplifiers this weekend.

You have quite the set up! Those 275's are worth more then Gold!

I set up a pair of Summet-X's with a Classe amp and preamp a few months ago, My client called me back a few weeks ago and asked if i thought a JL Gothom would help round out the bottom end. I told him i rather see you go with two Fathoms over the gothom. Ive got to get back out there to do some remote reprogramming, ill take a picture of his setup.

Do you have any acoustical treatment in the room?

If you dont mind when you get your other cabinet built i would love to see your whole setup!

3PedalMINI  I'm still amazed at the low end extension of the Summit X on their own for music.  For movies on the other hand they benefit from a good sub.  I also have a ML Balanced Force 212 sub, just got it recently.  In my small room one big sub like this is plenty.  I'm working on the amp stand today, hope I can finish them this weekend.  And yes I have a host of acoustic treatment, some is from ASC and others are home made.  I will post more pics when I get the amp stands completed.

I am jealous! Everything looks so perfect - like it belongs together. It is truly worthy of an AV magazine article.

WOW,  thanks for the kind words.  I don't know if it rates up with magazine articles but I'm flattered that you think so.  To be honest it's the McIntosh preamp on the top shelf that is the crowing piece in that pic.  The classic lines of the McIntosh gear goes so well with the G&G styling.
