Today I got a FS 3000 and a gecko clamp as I had a project requiring to breakdown 25 sheet 4x8 of Roseburg HD duramine. I used the Gecko clamp to pull out the sheet then attached it to the rails for my cuts. It truly sped up the breakdown of the material.

So, the geko actually stuck to the plywood well enough to carry it?  Does that type of plywood have a slick surface?  Will the geko work well on a regular sheet of cabinet grade ply?

I regularly use a couple of Gecko's for clamping my long rails in position.

Generally, the material I'm cutting has a smooth surface such as Laminate, Solid Surface and MFC. I have tried it on MDF, HDF and un-finished Plywood but the vacuum clamps just don't hold.

They do hold very well on a "Sealed" surface though, and it is a very strong hold.

Tim.

You need a smooth non porous surface for them to hold. Duramine is a melanine. And the gecko clamp works well. Unfinish plywood doesn't work
