Today I was making some rip cuts with my TS55 using two rails joined together and I noticed that my edges were not square around the place where the rails were joined. At the start and end of the cut the edges were square to the face but there was an odd section about a foot long where the edge was less than 90 degrees to the face.
Finally I found what was causing the problem and it's not something I've read about before. One of the glide strips had not been stuck accurately in its groove on the guide rail and was partly on the lip causing the saw to tip over. It's not a problem I have come across before as I rarely join rails together to make a cut and the offending section was right at the start of the rail.
A simple trim with a knife and all was well again.
Just something to look out for if anyone is experiencing a similar problem.
